MTN Business, better known as the Enterprise Business Unit (EBU) is the business division at MTN. Their Customers range from small SMEs to large corporates and the Government.
The MTN Business Self-Service Portal (BSSP) is a new portal established in 2021 to allow Business customers to manage their organisation’s telecom resources with MTN.
Currently in the MTN world, there is no notion of a User/Person. This is a problem considering that one single user can have multiple Numbers & Devices. Currently multiple sims & devices used by one single user are viewed as multiple people to the MTN system.
Design & develop a new functionality in BSSP to allow for a single entity called a “User” to exist. The user will have personal details, belong to a department and have Numbers & Devices associated with them. This way, one MTN Customer, can view & manage all their products within MTN.

To kick start the Discovery phase, we took the requirement received from Business and broke it down into functionality patterns. Mainly being Search, Create, View and Manage features.
This proved vital later in project with maintaining consitency across sub projects with similar functionality.
To understand the navigation and the links between the various features, I created an IA of the End user management project. This allowed us to check-in with various stakeholders and get early feedback on the project.
The high fidelity designs focused on the Desktop size, specifically the 1920w size. The full BSSP portal is a desktop application which plans to have it on tablet and mobile soon.
